The ISCC’s Work with Military Veterans

Leveraging more than 30 years of experience in the logistics and transportation industries, Perry Mandera oversees operations at The Custom Companies, Inc., as the company’s founder and president. A veteran of the United States Marines, Perry Mandera supports the Illinois State Crime Commission (ISCC), which provides help to military veterans in a number of ways.

Collaborating with Roosevelt University and several businesses in Chicago, the ISCC helps veterans locate jobs and internships and transition back to civilian life. In addition to providing assistance with resume writing and interviews, the ISCC introduces veterans to new opportunities and helps entrepreneurial veterans found their own companies.
The ISCC partnership with Roosevelt University also allows the commission to provide several tuition-free courses and educational resources in addition to access to careers fairs held at the university. Beyond this direct employment work with veterans, the ISCC advocates for veteran support. Among its achievements in the political sphere is the passing of the Veterans Preference Ordinance for Cook County, Illinois, in September of 2010.
